Are you feeling down, unmotivated, and not sure why? Does the simple fact that you feel this way make it hard to find the energy to cope with what you’re feeling? That kind of uncertainty might be spreading to the people you care about, so they may not understand what you need from them. I can help you to learn the skills to understand and cope with your emotions in a safe way, and to express them clearly enough that the people around you can truly hear you and understand how to support you. Together, we can build on the strengths that you already have to help you take back control of your emotions and your relationships.
My approach is an integrative, DBT-informed individual therapy that focuses on identifying and learning the skills that best fit your unique needs. We can work together on DBT skills including distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation and mindfulness. This will give us a clearer idea of what brings out the strongest emotions in you, and how to sit with and express those feelings in a way that keeps you connected to safety and peace. I believe anyone can learn to notice their feelings without judging, and sit with those feelings long enough to safely figure out a solution or a way to cope. I hope to have the opportunity to help you feel heard and understood, and thereby become empowered to make the choices that help you build a satisfying life.I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with an expertise in working with adults, children, adolescents, and families.
